I know my question would sound stupid but yeah... Idk how to do

(1 - 1/19683) over (2/3)

How do u simplify this fraction?? The quickest way possible??

I put in calculator and get 1.499924
It could not show in fraction form
But the answer in the book is in fraction form
I can simplify it but have to break down into steps and takes ages

This is an answer for a series question and therefore should not take too long just to simplify the answer

Anyone help please :(

So first you have :
1 - 1/19683 = -1/19683 + 1 = (19682/19683)/ 2/3
= 19682/19682 x 3/2
=59046/39366 (further simplify this to get fractional answer)

And yes, 59046/39366 = 1.499924 :)

I hope this helps

and don't worry, you're not stupid :) it's ok to ask questions! I'm sure other mathematicians here would be more than happy to help!

First thing to notice is:

I know
Thats part of my answer too
But the thing is idk how to simplify from that to 9841/6561

My question is what is the quickest way to simplify that because of course i know how to do in smaller steps -.-

Thats what i did
Of course !!!

My question is: is there any other way (quicker way) to simplify that whole thing?
Because if u get 59046/39366
U then have to keep dividing this number
Which takes time

But still
I dont get how the textbook just doesnt leave it in decimal form like other questions =______=

If you enter it into your scientific calc. doesnt it give the answer in simplest form ? And the reason why they want it in fraction form is because in an exam markers want to give out marks for a proper method :)

Do i have to simplify it like that (takes too long) in the hsc ? If that type of question/answer comes up???
But the question doesnt say exact or not exact o___O

I don't have mine right now but if yours is a Casio it should give you the simplified answer ....
