If a polynomial has 'integral roots', what condition does this indicate? Apparently integral roots means that the roots are integers, but how does this affect the question?

That is correct, the roots will be integers.

How it affects the question really depends on said question. But it does allow us to invoke things like the Integer Root Theorem (any integer roots must be factors of the constant term).
