I want to choose a degree that not only lies in my interests, but can lead to a high paying, enjoyable job (yes you've heard this before).

I don't mind anything chem/bio related, which is why I asked my question. I've heard great things about biotechnology, and environmental science etc., what other scientific fields look promising within Australia/worldwide?

Which countries are likely to have high paying scientific jobs? Seek.com is yielding modest results.

Also, where can I find this type of information?

Geology degree in the petroleum sector is your best bet, you'll have a hard time even getting a job with a BSci in anything else, except maybe physics or maths

Biotechnology has massive potential so Id definitely consider that.
Biological nanotechnology is something as well but that would require a lot of phsyics
