Is it too late to drop from 2U to General?

    Hi all,

My raw marks from the past 2 2U maths exams were atrocious: 21/36 and 42/70

My scaled cumulative mark is 76/100 and i'm ranked overall 36th/59(51 with 8 being in 4unit)

I realised my poor effort in the first exam and started studying really hard and getting my hands on every past paper i could find for the 2nd exam, but i didn't produce a result which reflected my effort.

I'm wondering if its worth dropping down to General to salvage an ATAR for my desired course (80.00). The deadline at the curriculum office is June 30th. I'm well aware of the amount of content i need to catch up on, but i was looking through past papers and at least 60% is algebra based which may make it a little easier for me. If i decide to drop, i'll receive an estimate and i'll only have the Trials as my final exam before the HSC.

    Thank you.

Hang on to your 2U. I don't know if you'd be allowed to change so late in the day. But to catch up with all the Math Gen content you have missed out on is going to be harder than to put in the extra effort into your 2U. Besides Maths Gen is foundation for very few things.

Do you have a personal tutor? A really good one? May help boost your marks.

I guess i could hold on to 2U and try even harder, maybe buy some of those Excel HSC past paper textbooks. I just lack the mathematical ability i guess. I'm trying to aim for a band 5 as my overall mark, but i just can't see it happening with my current marks. I'm gonna try my best x100. I have had past experience with a tutor in the past but it did little to improve.

Thank you for the response, though

All the more reason to get help; you obviously cannot help yourself too much in the limited time you have left.

I'd stay in 2 unit mathematics if I were you.

However it is still possible to drop down to general mathematics.
