    ATAR Estimation

Band 6 in Physics, 3U maths and 4U maths and high Band 6 in Chem. Band 5 in Adv. Eng.

    Re: ATAR Estimation

If you know whatever Bands, then you can enter it into an ATAR calculator to get an estimate. E.g. http://www.atarcalculator.com.au

Say you get 90 for Phys, 3U and 4U, 95 for Chem and 85 for English, you would get around 98.

Tell us your ranks first , as marks don't really matter in internals

Well to an extent. As what if a majority of people in his cohort got like 95% in a physics exam for an example. Him just getting a band 6 ( that is not specified how much he got) could for all we know rank him around the 60-70th in his grade. The scaling and such of the internals is pretty much based on the cohort you have, in a way the ranked 1 person can potentially influence the marks of others in the grade. True marks do count but taking in the fact we don't really know much, we need his ranks in his subjects to have a better insight into his atar

In the scenario above, Band 6 implies the final mark, not the school %. It wouldn't matter if you were 60th in the grade; a Band 6 is a Band 6.
