    Re: Playing the piano

I do!! I wish my parents have forced me. they didn't let me start until I was about 8 I still play. I play everything that I like. Chopin is probably my favourite. I like Bach but I hate playing most of his pieces coz they are technically demanding. I like pieces that let me 'flow' ie Chopin and Debussy (early works). I guess the main problem with me is that I hate to practise. I am really really lazy. but once i get the hang of the music, I play almost non-stop

I play a fair bit, but mainly I improvise and stuff around with classical pieces. I play all Bach's "Well tempered Clavier" and sometimes just muck around with themes from there etc. It comes in handy when I get asked to play for weddings etc. A quick $60 for half an hours work!

i play... or played... cos of d parents...
got up to amus b4 yr 12.... then gave it up cos i thought i didnt have time.. which i didnt. and was planning on doing lmus after hsc
so i didnt play anythin technical during that time. onli the same old easy stuffs... modern.
then tried to start it again after the hsc.... but realised i couldn't. cos my fingers didnt work like they used to.
so now cant get anywhere with that lmus. and regrettin it.

so a word to u hsc-ers out there... practice ur scales once in a while. it wont hurt ya.

yeah i still play, about 11 yrs now i think. i honestly dont know how long, i cant rememebr when i started!

I really love it, been doing grades for awhile, probably for the last 8 years. starting to get abit sick of it though, learning the same types of songs, so last year i learnt 1000 miles and accompanied my friend singing it, so now im accompanying afew of my friends in music 1 for their hsc. i realy enjoy that.

although now i hate that 1000 miles song............. drives me crazy, ive heard it that many times. plus everyone in class always asks me "oh play that song you did last year!!!

    aggghhh!

i like it how lots of artists these days are playing the piano. if i feel REALLy clever i try and figure it out myself. usually i give up and just buy the sheet music though

mozart's sonata in c, 1st mvt is good, need to have realy well controlled fingers for it, but it's realy impressive if u get the semi quavers even.

    yeah duets are fun!

me and my friend played one for our yr 10 elective music yearly prac. we did "jolly darkies" and "the can can" we put them together with a chord progression, it was great fun! we got to play it at our yr 10 grad assembly too. but she went to a different school for yr 11 and 12, so now we dont get to do it anymore.

its a shame, cos it was heaps of fun, i'd never done that before, plus we taught it to ourselves, which made us more proud!! hahaha

Well yes, forced by Asian parents too, like the majority...my mother really...my dad didn't really care. Finished 8th grade with a credit and no plans to do anything further...at least not this year

My favourite classical piece is one of my eighth grade ones: 'Hunting Song.' It's very passionate and emotional..and all that other stuff I learnt for general knowledge and then forgot :P
"Somewhere there's someone who dreams of your smile, and finds in your presence that life is worthwhile. So when you are lonely, remember its true. Somebody, somewhere, is thinking of you!"

"Hope is not the conviction something will turn out well, but the certainty that something makes sense regardless of how it turns out."

Tutoring: Up till HSC 4 unit English, Ancient History, Modern History and History Extension. PM if interested.
