Christian, however not a regular church goer. I worship God in my own way. Why, "coz i wanna", quoting babyslug.

Peace be with you all ...

k... my turn!

Christian (of the sda denom.) And i'm a Christian, 'coz i believe that God truly does love all people, and the suffering & death of His son Jesus (so that we can be saved & live forever with Him) is a clear demonstration of that love...

ahh... such profound love! Simply amazing.

i usually go to church, coz i feel like i belong there. It's a great place to socialise with friends and people who have the same beliefs and values, and it helps keep you on track and get rejuved for a new week! :)

I think everyone needs a belief in something to answer many if lifes questions
I go to a catholic school and mass every week, so i guess its just normal for me. God is like always there.. someone to thank for good things.. pray for help etc..

I'm a muslim- and i'm a muslim, bcoz i like the fact how islam calls to the submission to one god, the most perfect, with no flaws. Also because it reaffirms the message of all the prophets that came before (eg. abraham, moses, jesus etc.).

no, they're quite unrelated :)
Mormons belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

what are some ideologies of this particular denomination?
Most are same as mainstream Christianity - i.e. Bible is the Word of God, the Trinity (God - the Father, Son & Holy Spirit), salvation by grace, etc...

Some different ideologies:
*SDA's keep the Sabbath (saturday - hence the "seventh-day"), as set aside by God in the Creation week for rest, worship and generally doing good things for people.
*Emphasise a healthy lifestyle (since body is the temple of the holy spirit, 1 Cor 6:19,20)
*view death as an unconcious state (until the resurrection) In other words, SDAs don't believe that believers go "straight to heaven" as soon as they die. They are resurrected when Jesus returns.
*look forward to the soon 2nd coming of Christ (hence "adventist") and spreading the "good news" worldwide.

For a more comprehensive overview, try http://www.adventist.org/beliefs/index.html

p.s. never realised how "multi-faith" BOS was until now - this is really interesting! :)

ah... but remember, it's not how you behave, coz even believers can't fully succeed at being a 'good human being', (altho some can put up a convincing facade, but no-one's 'good' right down to the heart)

it's Who you know (God) that helps you be a good human being, just like it's "Who you know that will save you"...

i dunno. i'd like to think that religion is more than just a set of beliefs. More like, say, a knowledge of God - an active faith in God.

what i hate is religious people acting as if their better than me simply coz they go to church
like, i know one person, and he is so horrible, downright nasty, rude, abusive, etc, and then claims he is a better christian than me coz he goes to church
yeah, i might not go to church, but i still follow the christian rules the best i can; i know i follow more of the commandments than he does; and im pretty sure if there is such a being as God, then i would appear better in his eyes than this other dude (lol that was such an un-christian thing to do ;))

lol, that's sad - people like that are being deceived, and they are deceiving themselves. Unfortunately, that happens too often in the church. One day, (hopefully soon) people like that will wake up to themselves!

Going to church doesn't make someone a "Christian", going to Christ is what makes a Christian, church is just fellowship with other believers. Everyone's equally a sinner, no better than anyone else. But simply being there (at church) is (and can be) a faith-strengthening experience. :)

I was baptised as a catholic, but, as I was only a few months old I did not know what was being done to me, so luckily I can reject that leash out of hand. Unlike John Howard, I do not think that religion is required for a moral society.

Basically, I do not believe in any of the gods/paths to salvation, nor do I reject them out of hand. Keeping an open mind is what is required of any religion/belief system be it secular or not, and it also makes the 'discussions' of faith much more interesting.

Don't worry. A friend and I are convinced that if we walk into a Church we'll burn.
