why did you go to canon when you already had a nikon?
Wanted a change. I wanted to a full frame camera but at the time Nikon was a bit meh with its QC issues. They did have a superior AF system but I decided to adopt the master race (not SRS). Really though, the options and the price point at that point made the 6D a natural choice. I ended up selling my gear and rebuying so it wasn't a big deal.

Also Canon 2nd hand market is much bigger on the places I buy 2nd gear from.

6D was already marginally above what my price range. D610 was just released at that time which would have made it even more above my range. Additionally, Nikon lenses are traditionally more expensive.
