Just a student trying to get into Usyd. I read on your website that "Applicants with an average distinction will be able to apply to courses with an ATAR up to 96." Does that average distinction represent GPA? or WAM? Because at Macquarie University, I have a 5.33 GPA (7 point) which would be considered as a Distinction Average for our University

I am pretty sure a distinction is 6 and above

Usyd have used guaranteed ATARs for HSC entry for 2018, however for students trying to get in based on tertiary results elsewhere it is a little cloudier. Those values represent th conversions by UAC of 1year full time GPA to an ATAR equivalent.

Distinction is 6.
