all i know is that its a masters program which is done in a combined program with the following:
elec engg
telecom engg
comp engg
software engg
chem engg
... and a few more engg degrees

there was careers section in the newspaper in 'my careers' in sydney morning hearld on this wednesday. If you got it check it

aiya cant find the article on the net so i typed out some bits

- its b eng/ master of biomedical eng
- biomedical eng entails eng techniques and analysis applied to medicine and the biomedical science. - knowledge of maths, physics, chem, duration is 5 years
- careers can be in hospitals and academic areas
- with B eng you can choose a specialisation (comp, telecomunications etc)

and one more thing, the uai cut off is not common. it depends on what major u choose for the BE part
