hello there, I'm an undergrad with no idea of how the enrolment process works within myUNSW.
I'm doing Advanced Science and would like to follow the Vision Science study plan --> but when I'm in myUNSW it doesn't give me an option of choosing a Study PLan - ANY study plan!

It doesn't even give me an option to choose a specialisation aarrgh!

could someone help plz.

thanks for your help Vylen; but would it still be the same subjects even if I do Advanced Science? because I have to do an Advance Science seminar and this gets me up to 30 UoC per semester  isn't that too much??

It is 24 UOC per session, not 30.

Stage 1
Session 1:
BABS1201 Molecules, Cells and Genes (6 UOC)
CHEM1031 Higher Chemistry 1C (6 UOC)
MATH1131 Mathematics 1A (6 UOC) or MATH1141 Higher Mathematics 1A (6 UOC)
PHYS1121 Physics 1A (6 UOC) or PHYS1131 Higher Physics 1A (6 UOC)

Session 2:
PSYC1011 Psychology 1B (6 UOC)
SCIF1021 Advanced Science Seminar (6 UOC)
VISN1211 Vision Science 1 (6 UOC)
VISN1231 Optics (6 UOC)

Yeah, you can't enrol if you have a clash, however, if you get approval from a lecture to let you have that clash(the lecturer of the the class that you'll be missing), you can contact student services and get them to enrol you.

All of our math is in first year, math1131/1141, 1231/1241, and discrete math1081. I wouldn't say that it's hard compared to the 2nd and possibly 3rd year math that engineering students have to do. although the program is quite flexible, we can choose more math in later years if we wanted to and we can even have a minor in a completely unrelated subject like philosophy or economics(I took that as an elective last year)

I have between 20 to 24 hours per week :)

hmmm, computer science people dont really do science based subjects (apart from the maths) unless they choose to do so... they have a lot of freedom with regard to their degree apart from the core subjects like comp1911 and the maths subjects....

you might not like the hours you're gonna have per week but you'll get used to it as long as you know that you'll have to work hard and manage your time... of course, everyone would say that but thats cause its pretty much true

and yea, the maths like 1131 and 1231 are not hard... just think of it as an extension on high school... only you you have to learn a lot more than what you would in high school...
