This might be a stupid question but I failed one of my subjects and I'm taking it again this semester and one of the assignments is nearly identical to the one given last time I done the subject. Am I allowed to use the assignment I done last time for this current one or will that be seen as plagiarism even though it's my own work?

It will be considered plagiarism because it's not all your own work. The all your own work rule means for the purpose of an assignment, the assignment has only the work you did for this particular assignment. If you draw on a previous assignment, it does not meet that definition. You can however cite your previous works.
