Some of my friends are in the same position :)

I suppose you get to pick from what's left. You never know, there'll be a lot of people who want to change their times I think so you might be able to get some good ones.

I was given the info when I enrolled, including step-by-step instructions. Commerce/Eco were quite reasonably organised on enrolment day :).

[edit: had a brain fart]

Yeah, I am to. It's because the tuts were schedual to clash with the lectures, cause they hadn't been decided. I don't think any soft eng student is enrolled.

PS What are you enrolled for? I have:

BDM LEC
COMP LEC
COMP TBL
DISC MATH LEC
DISC MATH TUT
MATH LEC
MATH TUT 1
MATH TUT 2

Is this right?

PPS: There is no class in the course search.

Ditto, though I didn't know it before reading this.
I have the same classes as you, McLake.

Isn't there also a conflicting schedule with two maths classes in the second semester? I can't remember the details but their times were running into each other and the enrolment guy that was helping me out said to talk to the Maths faculty about it later.

Hey, I think I saw you! Sorry I didn't say hello, I feel like a rude bastard now :). Do you ppl know anyone else going to the same degree? I ended up having a good chat afterwards to a guy sitting next to me.

Yea, it was funny watching all the other engineering students leave the massive hall, and like 30 of us left over :p

Comp sci has a wider range of classes; maybe it's more interesting, but software eng teaches you something practical, at the least, that you can use in a programming job. It's good, because it makes programmers think in an engineer's mindset, so you focus on requirements and all that jazz, and don't end up writing software such as Windows 95 or the original Internet Explorer.

Lol.. on your first day? Not likely :)
Lucky for me i know where my first couple of classes are. It would suck to have a "See School for Location" one for your first.

hehehee :D :D :D

but dont u reckon it's stupid, dat they dont mak it with a 10-15min break in between? cos seriously, we need time to walk to the next building.

isnt all the 'see school for location' for tutorials not lectures?

But it's not like high school -- they don't keep track of who is where and have to organise everyone's schedules. E.g., would you want to hold up 50 students for 10mins just because another 10 students have a prior lecture?
Also, it makes it easier to bill by the hour :D

Yup, looks like it. Oh well, something to do after first class. On that note, is there any free-use (as in, not just for study stuff) net access?
