sorry man, i sent mine in on monday arvo
received confirmation yesterday arvo.

today was the last day, july 25th

http://www.med.unsw.edu.au/

registrations of interest were due in today, along with application forms and CVs

you can register your interest online, but how are you going to send in your application form (via mail) as well as have your school principal/academic estimate your UAI and send it in (mail)?

i don't like your chances now, to be honest
i was in deep **** for umat registrations,
i registered the night before the closing date (june 13)

also, umat rego's have closed.
www.acer.edu.au/unitest/umat

2003 Registration Deadline: Registration for UMAT2003 have now CLOSED

2003 Test Date: Wednesday 30 July

also from unsw's med site,

Important Notices for Applicants
The closing dates for entry for 2004 are:
27 June - UMAT (ACER) - with late fee
25 July - Registration of Interest (UNSW Medicine)
25 July - Application Form & CV (UNSW Medicine)
30 September - Application (UAC)

btw the late fee was $50, but it's way past june 27th already :(

umat admission tickets have been sent out, the test is on wednesday. sorry buddy :(

acer umat rego's were open since april or something
(online and via snail mail), im not sure about unsw, but i registered my interest a while ago, however i left my application form +CV until term 3 resumed to have my UAI estimated with principal's comments.

to answer your question, yes, medicine is hard to get into.
try doing a search on the forum for 'umat' or 'medicine'.
the stats are something like 5000 entrants,
UAI of 95+ (to be considered)
'superior performance' in UMAT
as well as in the interview.

1/3 UMAT
1/3 Interview
1/3 UAI

there are about 140-160 places for med at unsw as well, so you can do the math there. first round interviews are given to people with estimated UAIs of 99? (not too sure about this figure, could be lower) and good UMAT results. (i could be wrong about the interview-selection process, but have a search on the forum).
