Hey 05ers, on behalf of BOS's UNSW cohort, I'd like to say congratulations/commiserations on your HSC results.

Who's planning on coming to UNSW next year? What degree are you hoping to study?

Hey hello!

I'll be there. UNSW is teh sex.

I'm looking at Advanced Science majoring in Phys+Astro, but if I find I don't really like astro I'll take a look at other physics plans.

why are those your only options? Why not soft eng at unsw? (if youre considering soft eng at syd...)

Oh, because my uai fell just short of the cutoff for softeng @ UNSW.
88.15 as opposed to 90 :(
Im looking into post semester 1 transfers at unsw atm, because i would really love to do a double degree like Comp Eng/Comm or SoftEng/Comm.
If i were to go into CompEng, is it possible to to xfer into CompEng/B Com? If so, are there any downsides?

Don't think like that
UAI cutoffs vary dramatically...ie that Soft Eng cutoff at UNSW might be 87.5 this year, meaning you'd get in.

ALWAYS put your preferences in order of what you'd MOST like to do, not UAI cutoff order

i concur, except it IS pretty silly to put syd law down as 3rd preference ;)

Especially as you said softeng could be 87.5?
When do they change next?

Just a quick congrats to everyone that'll be joining UNSW next year. :) You might work like you've never worked before, some say its like doing the HSC twice a year, but you'll still have fun. :)

wow lots of elec eng people.. be warned - it's hard :p

edit: in response to the above - i find uni A LOT easier and more fun than yr 12. Reason being is that you're doing something you chose instead of something you're forced into doing, e.g. english.
