lol ima seriously try.. this is coming out of my butt .. so u may need to clean it up a bit.

Okay so we've got 4 frames of thinking, this is coz everyones been socialised differently and hence we all have different schemas, they can be categorised into structural, polical, hr and symbolic ways of thinking.

Structural- this places heavy emphasis on procedures and polciies, it comes from scientific management, in the sense that its all about optimising cost/efficiency outcomes through division of labour and specialisation, urrm it ignores emotions and hence may be disadvantageous in the sense that employees can percieve it to be too beauracratic which might lead to resentment. Other disadvantages include heavy emphasis on structural policies n stuff hence it might be really hard to change.

Advantages are many though in that it clarifies roles and responsibilities hence minimising confusion and conflict becaus eeveryone knows what to expect of themselves n others. Its also good coz people respond to order and control.

This frame of thinking is useful in situations like the militiary of when mass production is needed at a particular qualtiy.

Basically is very standardised and orthodox it can lead to difficulties in thinking any other way.

So the next one would be.... HR!

HR! Woot woot...

my favourite frame.. well not really.. its just the most "dynamic" frame. it's all about valuing responsivness and meeting the needs of employees. Supporting them by listening to their personal goals and aspirations, ensuring that they have enough resources to do their job well. The hr leader seeks to serve BOTH the organisation and its employees and it seeas employees as central to the org.. HR leaders also see employees as an asset to the company that needs to be developed and accomdoated for. eMPLOYERS empower through participation, openess, and communicating personal warmth and openess to elicit an amicable working environment for employees to work in

Its good coz it increases loyalty and commitment, i mean c'mon if you as an employee felt that the org was respondign to your needs, you'de increase ur comitment and loyalty to the org too! :D

Its bad in the sense that u can go too far and be seen as weak if ur too accomodating. and if you focus on pplee way too much u can miss the goals of the organisation.

its good if u want to build bridges from the ground up (whatever that menas) and it increases job satisfaction.

POLITICAL FRAME

okay lol this is about leaders recognising political reality, policies are based on power and policies are aimed so that parties can negotiate effectively (conflict effectlyivvely)

It helps to level the playing field for employees. The job of the leader is to recognise constituencies and develop ties to their leadership and manage conflict as productively as possible

hahah sorry that was repsitive
urrm

there are three faces of politics
1st face assumes that everyone can speak freely and voice their opinons (ideal state)
2nd face- oeprates under the assumption that managers use their power and position by ensuring that none of your opinions are aired. hebnce contradicintg the 1st face
3rd face- assumes that the org imposes its values on us... and sometimes we dont even know it. It does it through the organisational culture . It assumes that we subconsciously process values and belefs that are imposed on us through the org

SYMBOLIC FRAME

Think dramatic and visble symbolds to get pple aroused and excited and to give them a sense of the orgs mission.

the airy fairy one... lol nahh just kidding... this frame emphasises on our emotions and values. it involves giving something to people that they can believe in, in other words inspiring them. The symbolic leader will use creative slogans, tell stories, hold rallies and give awards and appear when they are least expected and manage by wandering around ensuirng their presence is known.

Its about being passionate and sexy and communicating the organisation as the best of its kind and communicating this passion to other people.

The advantages of utilising this frame is that it aids creativity and inspires others and it helps employees identigy with the organisation and hence encourages unity.

also its sensitive to orgs history and culture and thus articulates a superordinate goals that yeah are good n stuff.

disadvantages are that its hard to manage diversity with this frame of thinking and its hard to change culture through symbolism alone. also employees might feel its wrong that employers ar trying to foce their values down their throat.
