If you've been anywhere near the library steps in the past few days, you'll have seen the posters that accuse John Bransgrove of stealing $7000. I went on the one eighty degrees forum to ask about the story behind it, thought you guys would be interested.

Long story short for those who don't want to go to the thread:

My understanding is that these posters were linked to pamphlets handed out by Patrick Loi and Frankie Cheung. There was also similar information placed on the MUSC website. This was available on the home page of the MUSC website under the main heading: "Announcements" and the
subheading "There is something happening on campus.... See more"

However, the university quickly intervened to remove this webpage from
the MUSC website because it is on the university server and contained defamatory material and false claims about John Bransgrove. The $7000 has beeen accounted for and was spent on sending 16 students to a national conference and on costs for Sexuality Week

Yeah, I saw those posters, and one of my friends saw John go around to every single one of the people he saw with a flier and explained it to them.

When I saw the posters, I immediately knew it was trash because 1. John's a top bloke, and 2. the style of the letter. As Phill Betts said, the lack of contact details really made the letter look like trash, not to mention the really bad english and flow of the piece (read: Victor's asian gang wrote it).

The people who were handing them out were unwilling to actually discuss the contents, but rather just wanted to shot-gun them out there.

I honestly think accusing Bransgrove of stealing university money is not only hypocritical on part of Victor, but also border-lining defamatory. If Ma actually thought what he said, he should/would have taken legal action against John. Otherwise, he should just shuttup and accept that people on campus are getting a brain and starting to question him.

It was so funny today at the 180 meeting. There were a couple of asian visitors associated with Ma, it was really obvious, too.

The funny thing is that we treated them all nicely and invited them to tark part in the forum and the meetings. It really shows how low Victor is; he has to send spies into our meetings, when everyone and anyone is invited. Our doors are open, but these students feel they have to play cloak-and-dagger bullshit.

Some of them don't realise that we're all people- we all have to live with each other, and treating Bransgrove like a theiving faggot really is unfair when he does to much for everyone.

I mean, John had nothing to do with the 'Educational Collective' (like it said on the handout), he was involved in the 'Sexuality Collective'. I really think that they're pinning a lot of this on John's sexuality. I mean, we all know that being gay makes you a bad person.

Extremists like Pauline Hanson and Andrew Fraser became popular because of asian fukwits like them.

Victor Ma would have called the police if John had actually stolen anything.

That's very true, although the same could be said about white people going to Asia. I was looking into doing the B Asian Studies (specialist) at ANU, which encorporates a year abroard. The students that head over always end up hanging out with other white tourists- whether it's Aussies, Europeans, Americans, etc.

Because the dishes were going at it with the forks, behind the other dishes back, so it picked up a spoon to give it to them
