I had a question about honours. When i was reading the faculty handbook it said u need a credit average & an averge mark of 70 in the discipline area in which the honours degree is in. Does this mean if i was thinkning of honours in accounting, i would only need 2 get a credit average in 2nd and 3rd year when i start my accounting major or does it mean an overall credit average including 1st year? Also, if i was getting youth allowance by 3rd year, wud i still get it in 4th year? U need 2 be studying full time 2 get youth allowance so i guess my question is: is honours comnsidered full time? thx guys in advance

I believe Honours study is full time since its 24cp per semester which your normal full time load. Its covered by HECS as well I believe.

I don't think they count your first year. Its your 2nd and 3rd years. You'll probably need a higher mark then Credit. It depends on places. I also believe you have to get selected to be in the program.

ohhh okay. thx that helps heaps. Now that i look closer in the subject outline i realise it is 24 credit points each semester. I mite ask around @ uni and find out wat the deal is from a tutor or something. I dont even know if i'd want to do it but i guess it doesnt hurt to know how it all works! thx jase-rex

Yeah, u can take honours either full-time (24cp) for 1 year, or part-time (12cp) for 2 years
