Hey, i just completed my HSC recently and was looking at B. Maths and Finance at UTS. i only did the Mathematics 2 unit course at school. Would i be disadvantaged if i did not do the extension maths course (as it is recommended)? Also, does anybody know whether this course is accredited by professional bodies/ associations?

thanks.

1. There is another recent thread on this in the Faculty of Science section.

2. It's not professionally accredited. However, UTS was the first uni to develop the Finance & Maths program so it has a good reputation.

3. Yes, you will be disadvantaged. It would be wise to do some kind of bridging course to bring you up to speed on the techniques from 3u & 4u which are assumed knowledge for even the most routine questions, esp calculus - integration like integration by parts.
