Is it a good idea to simplify my notes and just memorise the key points first and then go ahead and memorise each subject in detail from my bigger set of notes?

For my subjects i'm writing comprehensive notes and then doing another set of simplified notes as i get closer to half yearlies and trials.
Big, wordy notes are definitely not the best for memorising, so simplification is good, but writing them out is good for hammering in that knowledge.

I'd like to have notes of 10 pages max for each topic in science. 12 if I'm pushing the limit. I believe it is possible to summarise all the important points within those page limits even thought some people say they need like 20/30 pages for a topic. I have managed to summarise The World Communicates in 11 pages and received very good marks on its exam.

So Ye keep it simple, to the point, including any key points/important hints
