To consolidate everyone's questions on how to enrol and the like, I have created this post to assist somewhat.
Accepting Your Offer
When an offer is made by the UAC, you simply, as you would know, accept it online. The university will contact you via mail about other things you need may need to do or might be interested in.
Programmes the University offer include bridging courses and development programmes to assist you with academic studies and writing. These have a deadline for application and there are limits on how many numbers can enter. If you don't make it here, you can always contact the Learning Skills Unit of Student Support Services and they can assist you.
Enrolment
You will be required to attend an enrolment session. Again, the university will notify you as to when and where this will be. At this session you will be provided wth information about your course, constraints, possible future career paths, majors and specialisations you can choose, etc... After this will need to enrol.
In the enrolment form you will choose your units for both Autumn and Spring Semesters (these can be later changed through a Programme Variation Form).
After enrolment, you will be required to do the following:
Note for Combined Students (particularly for law): Generally you need only attend the main degree you are studying. E.g. If you are doing Arts/Law, you need only attend the "Law" session, not Arts.
Checking the Web Facilities
It is a good idea to familiarise yourself with the UWS web facilities. The Three most important are:
-Platform Web (platformweb.uws.edu.au): This place is for Tutorial Registration, Timetable Information for Exams and Exam Results/Progression.
-Studentmail (studentmail.uws.edu.au): you will have your own UWS email. The University can only contact you on that, so ensure you check it regularly. There are options to create an alias (to avoid having your student number being used in the address) and you can link it to your normal email service.
-WebCT (elearning.uws.edu.au): This is your Web Classroom. Some units are taught via here, however you can find your unit outlines, seminar guides and important links here. There is also information on your course and you can ask questions here on a bulletin board.
To activate your account, you need to register on MyUWSAccount.
Tutorial Registration
Tutorial Registration is on Platform Web. You need to be near a computer when your school opens. Generally you will find that it is a slow process, so be patient. Ensure when planning your timetable, you have a back up plan, as many students might have the same primary plan as you.
If you are strung with a bad timetable with clashes, you need to work out alternatives and you can speak to your unit or course coordinator about this. Furthermore if this can be avoided by changing a class which is full, speak to the unit coordinator about your problem and they may be able to fit you in.
Orientation Week
Orientation is where the lecturers will address you about life at UWS. You may here from student organisations, graduates, etc... Vital information or very helpful information is given so ensure you do attend.
You may also find out your texts for the units you will be studying. You can purchase these from the Co-op shop and do join the co-op as a life member, you get 10% off purchases.

This is the first week of uni. You need to attend classes and you will find that the uni has some activities you can do in your spare time.

- Have your photo taken for a Student Card (includes your Concession)
- Collect information for Orientation Day and Parking
- Ensure your Tax File Number is provided for your Commonwealth-Support Place (HECS)
