Hi all!

I'll be a Wollongong' student. I start in Feb 2008, in 'Master of strategic management and marketing'.

I take maximum informations about Wollongong, the Uni, the life style in Australia,... etc but for now I don't have a students point of view.

Could you share your experience? Specially a student in the same master than me. The 'reputation' of this master? The teachers?...

Thank. :)

(sorry for my english)

Chances Gumn, is that nobody here has heard of it, but remember there is about 16,000 other people at UOW who don't use this site. I have personally heard of the degree and it's reputation is quite good with graduates finding jobs quite easily.

I doing know about that strategic management and marketing junk, but I'm currently doing my Master of The Universe, so I might just be your boss one day.

You might be put off by this, but don't let it get to you. My people enjoy competitive remuneration packages, a great work environment, and are always telling me about how much they enjoy our various on-the-job perks. They love it, and I'm sure you will too! Look forward to seeing you soon.

I guarantee it. If you want to have a fun time and be accepted by the domestic students, then make the effort to get out and socialise with them, don't be afraid to say hi and buy someone a drink at the bar. I think this is one of the reasons the the Europeans, South Americans and Canadians enjoy a better reputation with domestic students than some of the students coming from Asia.

Whether this is just due to cultural differences, language barriers or a vicious cycle is anyones guess, although this is just a generalisation (as is most of the stuff said on this forum) though as there is always exceptions to what I just said.
