From yr 11 3u 9B, Q13: a) and b)
Using the definition of a parabola and the perpendicular distance formula, find:
a) the equation of the parabola with focus S(-1,1) and directrix y=x-2
b) the equation of the parabola with focus S( 3,-3) and directrix x-y+6=0

PS: The extension section in 9B is probably one of the easiest n the book, dont you guys agree?
LOL odd how I cant get this, but I can get extension q's.

The 'definition' of the parabola is that it is a locus - where the perpendicular distance from the directrix to a point on the parabola is the same as the distance from the focus to the aforementioned point on the parabola.
