Question:
According to Boyle's law, the pressure of a gas is given by the formula P=k/v, where k is a constant and v is the volume of the gas. If k=100 for a certain gas, find the rate of change in the pressure when v=20.
Answer: -1/4


I understand that I have to derive dP/dv....but how do I derive that? Do I use quotient rule...?

Nah no quotient rule needed
Since k is a constant, you can just use regular ol' differentiation
Quotient rule only applies when the thing you differentiating in respect to is in both the numerator and denominator
