5. The population of a flock of birds over t years is given by the formula P = Poe0.0151t

b) What will be the percentage increase in population after 10 years to the nearest per cent?

Had no problem with part a, just need b. Thanks in advance.

Re: Help! Question from Maths in Focus Challenge Exercise 6 - Applications of Calculu

Find P when t = 10 in terms of P_0, then divide over by the initial population P_0, and multiply by 100 for the percentage.

Your answer should be 100e^(0.151) % to the nearest percent.

Edit: Integrand spotted my mistake of not giving the answer in terms of a percentage increase, which the question actually asks for.

Note that it asks for the percentage increase, so the answer will be sida1049's answer minus 100%.

I.e. it is (P(10) – P_0)/(P_0), where P(10) is the population at time 10 (and then convert this to a percentage).
