Use the four standard forms (x^2 = 4ay, etc) to find the equation of the parabola with vertex the origin and axis vertical, passing through (4,1)

Use the four standard forms (x^2 = 4ay, etc) to find the equation of the parabola with vertex the origin and axis vertical, passing through (4,1)
This can only be an upright parabola whose standard form is: x^2 = 4ay
Since (4,1) lies on this parabola, 4^2 = 4 x a x 1 ==> a = 4

.: eqn of this parabola is: x2 = 16y
