How did we all go? Any unusual questions?

Really liked the option questions (sports med and IP), and the core 1 and 2 response questions were good for the most part. But yeah, multiple choice was the killer

Hi guys, just curious anyone know how they mark the exam, like if you include irrelevant dotpints but the right ones aswell will you get marked down. Also I realised my writing during the exam was really bad and messy, do you reckon i'll get penalised?

    Re: PDHPE 2017 Exam thoughts

If you include irrelevant dot points you might lose marks depending on contradicting points, not enough depth on what is actually being asked and if markers believe you don't have proper understanding of the points.
From what I have gathered, you don't lose marks for messy handwriting unless it is illegible in which in this case you can't be awarded marks at all. (HSC markers are on our side--> they prefer giving marks than taking marks away for trivial issues)

Another question guys, lets say for the 12 marker for sports med, what mark would you expect if you got all the syllabus points down but lacked good info and examples?

I wrote how it is good for the health system as less old lads in the hospitals results in less stress for the health sector , as well as less funding required for them and money for carers etc , thus allowing money to be spent in other areas. That's more or less the main thing you talk about, as well as the amount of carers declining, and I also mentioned the "Living Better, living longer" campaign as an example.

    > better quality of life
    > better for the economy
    > carers are declining thus it is becoming an issue
    >government shifting towards preventative measures

I think those were pretty much my points

    Re: PDHPE 2017 Exam thoughts

I just used the growing and ageing population dotpoint, like healthy ageing is important as chronic conditions create a higher demand for health services and thus there is a lack of availability of carers and volunteers. Thus it would reduce the financial burden and straing on system by reducing chronic conditions. Also how the system is encouraging old people to stay in homes Is that also right?

    Re: PDHPE 2017 Exam thoughts

I talked about how chronic conditions causes a burden on the government as they have to provide more carers and volunteer workers to these people -> causes money to be spent on treatment rather then prevention which in the long term increases more burden on the community -> it also increases health facilitates used by aged people and a reduction in the workforce which once again causes a economic burden on the community -> therefore we can EVALUATE (as it was a to what extent question) that there is a need for HEALTHY AGEING to reduce these problems (I also answered the question directly here, but forgot what the question was exactly).

I really hope this can give me full marks.
