Yesterday, 1:28 AM ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | google IM You can hide this advertisement by registering. If google released an IM program better than MSN messenger (which i think is the dominient program).who would convert? i have doubts this will be a successful venture for google, unlike gmail, there isn't really anything that could blow us away in IM.

| Senior Member | I like aim more than msn - but I think if google took on its own IM program, they should take elements from all the available ones like msn, aim and icq - I'd love if MSN had a direct connection feature like AIM does and if MSN had the feature to be invisible as to appear offline but still allow you to send messages to people like AIM does..so yeh..I think there are a few ways they could make a 'superior' instant messaging program.

| Demigod of Waffle | I would go with DA flow. If the majority of people moved to Google then yes, I would too. This is just the same as the ICQ/MSN conversion that happened a few years ago. I used to only be on ICQ but when the majority of people transferred to MSN, I did as well. I open ICQ up occasionally still to see who's online. Most of the people are on MSN simultaneously anyways. I only use it to chat to friends/family overseas.

i wish mozilla.org made an open-source multiple-IM client with all of the above, in line with their firefox and thunderbird.
