I did LPH last semester...processes part is easy enough, but history is lengthy, complicated and confusing. And Rob doesn't make it any easier with his non-stop legal jargon. gud luck with it anyway... r u doing legal research (total waste of time) and criminal law too?

Hi,

I have one favour that I hope someone could help with.

Could someone either put up the subject outlines for LR and LPH or just let me know the assessments for these subjects.

I wanna do these 2 as electives.

Thanks.

Our lecturer was saying that they were thinking of making LPH n LR one two 6CP subjects and changing it
not sure when this is happening though

Really. ATM im enrolled in LR and LPH as 4 and 10 CP subjects.

If possible, what are your thoughts. And what were the assessments and their weightings.

That might be a bit much but if someone could answer in relation to assessments, itd be much appreciated.

Thanks

ah alrite then
LPH:
1. Court report 35%
You are asked to visit a New South Wales Local Court (for at least 2 hours) in accordance with the following guidelines. You must reflect and draw upon that experience and use that experience to critically evaluate the claims made in the attached articles:
they appear in the learning guide
it is 2500 words

2. Restricted Open Book Exam 65%
Date: Formal exam period
The final exam will be held at the end of semester during the University’s formal exam period. You can find out the date when the exam timetable is posted on the internet and Faculty notice boards during the semester.

The exam will test material dealt with in both seminars and lectures.

The examination will be designed to test understanding and the ability to critically analyse and reason rather than the mere regurgitation of information given in lectures or in the prescribed texts.

The examination will be a RESTRICTED OPEN BOOK EXAMINATION of 3 hours duration.

Legal research:

there is a research assessment worth 65%
and final exam 40% in class

yeh i think there would be some part timers doing it
as well as everyone doing straight law first year
but the combined degrees do it 2nd semester.
