I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but, how well do I need to be doing in 3 unit in year 11 to do 4 unit next year?
I'm currently ranked first in both 2 & 3 unit but my school is not a very big academic school.
My marks so far for 3 unit are:
Assessment 1: 81
Assessment 2: 82
Assessment 3: 77
Any help or advice would be appreciated :)

+1.

It won't hurt to give 4u a go, you can always drop it in the end. You should not pass up on the chance of doing 4u since it's an interesting course and also has great scaling!

Ok will do! I'll give it a shot and see where it takes me, couldn't hurt either way.
