Prelim Topics in HSC?

This might sound like a very noob question but are the prelim topics examined in the hsc paper at all? or is it just the hsc topics and nothing more? I know the marks you get in year 11 mean squat in year 12.

I don't think so except for maths, but some concepts can carry over I believe :)
E.g. Moles for chem calculations
I think a bit of motion from Moving about for projectile motion?
And keplers laws of planets for space/astrophysics module I think.

The topics arent necessarily tested, but your understanding of year 11 concepts sure will be. Like kurosaki said, molar calculations are taught in year 11 but are used throughout year 12. Preliminary economics is almost all theory, and a lot of year 12 is applying that theory to the Australian economy. Maths is the only one that tests preliminary topics, and i believe the maximum amount is 30% of the paper, someone else might need to confirm that for you.

I learned how to write a deece essay in year 11, but in the HSC theyre just gonna ask me about a different Shakespeare text. Year 11 genre theory for 3unit english is almost the same as year 12 but you apply it to other genres.

Year 11 lays a lot of groundwork for your year 12 studies
