This question is from the prelim maths in focus book (p272) - studying for half yearly.

A cylinder with radius 4cm and perpendicular height 15cm is tilted so that it will just fit inside a 12cm high box. at what angle must it be tilted?

Answer 16° 50'

i have no idea where to start - any help would be great! ill try to add the diagram later.

Solution attached. If you use t-results to solve the equation, you should get 10t2-15t+2=0, where t=tan(@/2), @=16o50', which is your answer.
