Yes, when you encounter a fraction, you must turn it into a....how can I say, a NON FRACTION. Then you go along differentiation! Lmfao I THINK. I started Calculus too.

x + (x over 1) = x + x = 2x
Differentiated = 2

But if you meant (x + 1/x) = x + x^-1
Differentiated = 1-x^-2 = 1 - (1/x^2) as ArchAndy said.

right its a lot easier than I thought it was since i was doing harder ones before and thought there was a special way. any way its

1 - 1 over x^2 yer u were right .
