I can never ever do these questions. Thanks so much:

When polynomial P(x) is divided by x(x-1), quotient is Q(x) and the remainder is R(x) = ax + b.

i) Given P(1) = 3, show that R(1) = 3
[done]

ii) Furthermore, when P(x) is divided by x, the remainder is -4. Find R(x).

Seen this question a million times. Never understood how it works.

It's just a matter of finding a and b. Sub in x=0 and x=1 and you should have two equations which allow you to find a and b.
