B Commerce/B Science (Computer Science)

Anyone doing this course now?! What do you study in your first year?! For commerce, do you only do core subjects the first year?! What about for the science degree?! Also is it possible to learn a language by choosing this degree?

You wouldnt be able to learn a language with this degree, I'm quite sure. Its hard enough fitting it in to 4 years...

yeah. the two together mean to be 6 years. if you want to learn a language, then you should choose commerce/arts if there is this degree. Arts is the only one you can pick languages.

for commerce side..
you'd do micro, macro, acct 1a and 1b

dont think you'd do qma/b (maths/stats) as i think for science, you'd be doing a harder (?)maths course

its 4 years for a comm/sci degree

just to add to tonberry's plan, if you want to do a major other than acct for ur commerce side, u'd also have to do other 1st yr comm subjects, which means u'll be doing discrete/macro/comp1b later (or overloading)

this is also true for non comp-sci majors due to the extra 1st yr science subjects

also, qmb is not covered by normal/higher maths i don't think

First year you usually do 8 of:
Accounting 1A
*Accounting 1B
*Microeconomics 1
*Macroeconomics 1
*Computing 1A
*Computing 1B
*Maths 1A
*Maths 1B
*Discrete Mathematics
*other commerce subjects such as Finance

Hmm you can try to overload, but to do that.. don't approach the commerce faculty, go to cse

I think you get exempted from QMA & QMB only if your commerce major is Actuarial Studies or Finance, at which point you can do Mathematics for Actuarial Studies & Finance (1A & 1B) to replace it.

Thats just m\y guess, though.

u get excepted from QMA/QMB if u have an "approved" science maths course
these include Mathematics for Actuarial Studies & Finance (1A & 1B), Maths/Higher Maths (1A & 1B)

i know someone who has only done 1141 and got excemption from BOTH QMA and QMB
he did get HD

in commerce/science
