Don't know... a few candidates for it?
Why does 1+1=2?
Prove, using only maths, that the meaning of life, universe and everything is 42.
Is a cow when it spins? (valid question)
'99 Q8 b (v) (under time limit of 3 hhours after you did the whole exam:)
formulate a similar resutl for a cyclic n-gon?
I have no idea. If I meet the hardest one I'll forget because I can't do it.

Hardest? Q8(b), 1989 (which not a single candidate was able to complete BTW).

Simple: 6 * 9 = 42 :D

Let's post this question then:
1989 Q8 (b)
The difference between a real number r and the greatest integer less than or eual to r is called the fractional part of r, F(r). Thus F(3.45) = 0.45...

NO! I GIVE UP! Just reading it is a pain! Ugh!!! Who has time to do this in a 3 hr exam?!

I'm sure 6 * 9 give 42... :D *cough*

Mr Adams later admitted that it was a mistake and that he meant to write 6 * 7, and you'll find that written in reprinted copies. :p

Maybe we can look at other things like this:

Prove or disprove:

And why would that be hard? Because it is undecidable (can’t be proved or disproved) as shown in 1963 by Paul Cohen:

Cohen, Paul J. (15 December 1963). "The independence of the Continuum Hypothesis, [part I]". Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America. 50 (6): 1143–1148: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC221287/pdf/pnas00240-0135.pdf

and

Cohen, Paul J. (15 January 1964). "The independence of the Continuum Hypothesis, [part II]". Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America. 51 (1): 105–110: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC300611/pdf/pnas00175-0117.pdf
