hey BoSers,
I have spent 2 of my morning studies and tried to work out the question. But just solved part a & b. please help

suppose a tunnel is constructed through the centre of the Earth along its diameter. a particle is released from rest at a distance of 2r from the Earth's centre, where r is the redius of the Earth. on the Earth's surface, the acceleration is given by a=-k/x^2. when inside the tunnel, the acceleration is given by a=-kx. let g be the acceleration at the Earth's surface.
c) show that the velocity v at a distance x from the Earth's centre, where x<r, is given by v^2=(g/r)(2r^2 - x^2)

d) find the time for the particle to travel from the Earth's surface to the Earth's centre.

thanks in advance. :)
