how would you do this question by Parallel Cross-Sections (I know its way easier to do by cylindrical shells and by slices but just curious)?
Find the volume of a hemisphere of radius a units.

$\noindent Find an expression (in terms of h) for the area of a cross-section at any height h\in (0,a), and then integrate this from h = 0 to h=a.$
