    Patel Exercise 4O

    Hello all,

I require assistance with the following questions in exercise 4O of Patel's 'Foundations of 4 Unit Mathematics':

    Q18(b) Screen Shot 2018-01-19 at 11.51.01 am.png

    Q22(b) Screen Shot 2018-01-19 at 12.00.31 pm.png

    Q24 Screen Shot 2018-01-19 at 11.57.17 am.png

    Q30 Screen Shot 2018-01-19 at 11.57.25 am.png

Some of these questions appear simple, but I believe them to be more complex (no pun intended). Any assistance which you can provide with regard to these questions will be greatly appreciated.

hehehehehehe solution to 22 i): u = 3x/4 ,v=5y/4. make x and y the focus of each expression, as now x and y can be expressed as 2cos(bla) and 2sin(bla) respectively and divide both sides of each equation by two. now use the identity the cos^2(bla) + sin^2(bla) = 1 and sub the other value so u have the equation.
