there needs to be a better way to write maths equations
on the board in stead of a jumble of "^" "*" and "( )/( )" thingys

You can send pictures ....

Look, just deal with it (unless you want to specify symbols)

People have coped with that restriction on usenet for years, and there are many flourishing mathematical groups there. I know it's not easy to get used to, but it's hardly an insuperable difficulty.

You can just use the HTML (and the corresponding ) tag for superscripts e.g. xn + 1 becomes xn + 1, etc.

EDIT But forgetting to close the tag can cause things to get messy...

i find it easy to type it up in word using words equation editor, take a screenshot of only the part that has the equation and attach the picture to the msg.

Does anyone have any idea of how to "capture" a problem from a pdf acrobat file and paste it on a word file, or an email?

Well

There are two ways... You can either select the text selection tool up the top there ^ or if it is not comming out how you want you can use the picture select tool, which would copy it as if it was like a screen shot of the part your want. Either way you can then go into word or whatever and just paste it in.

Simple. Hope it helps

the selecting tool only works if you have adobe acrobat, not just acrobat reader.
