Hey can some one tell me if tehres a diff between the one gene, one protein and one gene , one enzyme hypothesis because my question in an assessment says outline the evidence that lead to beadle and tatums one gene, one protein hypothsesis but whenever i research i can only find one gene, one ezyme and one gene, one polypeptide,

a protein may consist of several polypeptides.

but a gene only makes one poly peptide.
which means it may take several genes to make one protein

considering that an enzyme is a protein, it was called one gene one protein, but it changed to polypeptide because its a more correct term as some proteins may be composed of one or more polypeptides..htats why it changed to polypeptides, its a more accurate unit i guess?
