There are several groups working towards developing a vaccine and there are alot of clinical trials going on to see if they work.

This is a link to an article about some of the things that are happening its a little old 2007 but it gives you an idea of what is going on

And this year Nature (a scientfic journal) brought together a heap of articles to show whats been happening
