The host response refer to the object being infected with the parasite. You can talk about how host have defenses, both mechanical and cellular. eg. mechanical process like mucosal or skin barrier. Cellular immune responses include white blood cells (macrophages, neutrophils) and the adaptive immune responses including antibodies from B cells, and T cell responses.
