What sort of raw marks would you be looking at to state rank biology?

If you have the time, you can memorise the textbook which guarantee's you a state rank.
My friend came 4th or so in 2007 and all he did was literally memorise the textbook.

3U is 83-84/84 but now probably 69-70/70 and 3U is around 112/120.
3U is definitely full marks and 4U I think is a bit higher (maybe 114/115) depending on the difficulty of the test.

The guy who topped the state in 2008 got 119/120 in MX2 and full marks in MX1.
But I think it changes depending on how difficult the paper, but that is rank 1.
If you're looking for just a state rank then 95% + I think.

Then why aren't like, half of the state rankers in 3U from different schools on the same rank?

Yes, it depends on the exam but there are state ranks at ~112.

I think with 3U, with ties they look at performance in other maths subs (4U) which prevents ties. You're probably right with the 4U :)

I thought ~118+ was a state rank for 4u :S.
