CSSA VS Independant 2009

Is it just me or was the Independent Paper really crap??

It has the WEIRDEST questions that you would NEVER see in the HSC.

The only good question I saw was the one about bromine water and its suitability.

On the other hand CSSA seemed to have more HSC like questions that were not too easy but not very difficult either. It lacked a 7 mark question and seemed very generic.

Agreed although I haven't been able to get my hands on the CSSA paper.

Re: CSSA VS Independant 2009

I did the Independant for my trial. I thought it strayed from the syllabus a bit but i still managed 91.

As for the CSSA it stuck to the syllabus pretty tight, so I guess were more hsc-style questions.

For Independent and Catholic - do individual schools mark it? Or does it get sent to a centre (just like HSC).

Re: CSSA VS Independant 2009

Independent papers annoy me because they have some really unrealistic questions and some multiple choice questions are wrong e.g. water does not have a covalent bond >.>

But yeah, most schools mark their own CSSA or independent papers

I'm pretty sure it has two. One between each O-H bond within the molecule.

She just forgot to add the word 'coordinate' before covalent.

Re: CSSA VS Independant 2009

The Independant PDHPE paper was a little bizarre. I'm talking about the Core 1 question about the Ottawa Charter.
Not many people were pleased.
