I am asked to assess the reliability of the acceleration, given a velocity time graph with a line of best fit.

Reliability is how consistent your results are. By high school conventions a = (V(f)-V(i))/(T(f)-T(i)).

Pick a few pair of points on your line of best fit and calculate the gradient which should be acceleration.

If the the 2/3+ pairs of points give a value of acceleration that's almost the same, then your acceleration is quite reliable, else it isn't reliable.
