I emailed board of studies, and they said............

"The scheduling of examinations for all Higher School Certificate courses
within the time period is a complex task. The primary consideration in the
formulation of the timetable is to avoid individual clashes for students.
In addition consideration must be given to the placement of examinations to
allow sufficient time for the marking operation and the processing of
results. This means that some students will be required to undertake two
examinations in one day, and on consecutive days.

I understand your concern at doing six examinations over six consecutive
days but can assure you that many other students will have a similarly
intensive schedule if not more so. For example, some students have 4
examinations over two days or five or six over 3 days. There is simply not
enough examination days to ensure that all students have even a days break
between examinations.

If you have adequately prepared, I am confident you will not find your
examination schedule too rigorous. You additionally will have the added
bonus of completing your examinations within two weeks.

May I take this opportunity to wish you well.

Regards

yeah I get to start off the exams with a bang...

english paper 1 and music 2 on the first day!

5 of my 6 exams are in the first week...these also include the 2nd adv. english paper, modern history and business studies.

I then get more than a week off for the ext. 1 english exam...

Well I guess my timetable isn't quite as bad as instinct's but I do have the same amount of exams as you do in the first week and no less than two on the first day!

I was pretty pissed about it for a while but it didn't seem to me like it was something that was going to change so I'll have to live with it.....there's other people in the same boat.

nice of them to say:
"If you have adequately prepared, I am confident you will not find your examination schedule too rigorous. You additionally will have the added bonus of completing your examinations within two weeks."

wow, its the exams of your life which will decide what you do for the next few years. (sorry to put it that way).

I have:
  • english on wednesday
  • ipt on friday
  • maths on the following monday
  • Following Monday English Ext 1
  • Tuesday Legal Studies
  • Wednesday Week Economics

So Im lucky in that I have my exams spread over 4 weeks.

But my trials are F***ED...

5 exams in the first 4 days...... ARGH!!!!!!!!!!

It might be good to get all the exams over and done with in a short burst while your still very motivated

Mine are spread out over the 4 weeks and I bet by my last exam I will be so over the whole hsc thing I will barely be able to keep myself motivated

I would have been peeved if I had a shit timetable, but I agree with how they replied. If you are prepared enough, it shouldn't be a problem .. and you can rub it in your friends faces that you finished really early :p
