Task: you are a charter accountant for Arnotts. Your company is concerned with the changes in the external environment and has asked you to prepare a detailed business report about the main influences on financial management.


Please help me on how to structure the report (just list in dot point form)

Is it basically talk about sources of fund, external and internal fund,then explain each option ???

The question mentioned "changes in external environment", should i talk abt these???

- Select 1 short-term borrowing and select 1 long-term borrowing
2.2. Equity Finance
- Select 1 form of ordinary shares and talk about private equity.

3. Financial Institutions
- Talk about 2 or so in-depth.

4. Influence of Government
- ASIC
- Company Taxation

5. Global Market Influences
5.1. Economic outlook

5.2. Availability of Funds

5.3. Interest Rates

Changes in the external environment? Yes, do mention them but they're all linked to the dot points.

These are highly correlated with the influences in a sense.

E.g. Economic growth (or more specifically aggregate demand) is slowing down or weak. RBA might respond by lowering cash rate --> interest rates will fall which means it becomes cheaper to borrow for Arnotts --> Arnotts can make greater investments.

The external environment in this case is the overall economy.

Financial institutions themselves are EXTERNAL to Arnotts.

Same with government.
