If you're opposed to this, show Victorian MPs that you do not want them to pass this legislation, by marching in the "Justice for the Unborn" rally in Melbourne.

Adults should be able to voluntarily end their own lives at any time for any reason, in a safe and legal manner.

But modern society and relationships aren't governed by rights in reality but by compromise, by 'give and take', and by finding the practical solutions.

the foetus/embryo growing inside the woman is not part of her body. he or she just happens to be growing inside the woman's body.

look i don't intend this thread to turn into some sort of pro-life/pro-choice debate (though i'm sure it will at some point). just wanted 2 alert anyone who will be in melbourne this weekend that this is going on so people can attend if interested.

dhj, i agree with u that our society is a compromise of rights and responsibility but i'm weary of saying that rights are overrated. also, i'm sure there r many places on bos where the abortion issue has been raised. all i was saying is that i wasn't meaning to start a heated discussion in THIS thread. but if you'd like to, go for it.
