Hey guys my sister was just watching Sky News and Latham thought Stalin was a really great leader and if he was elected, then he would introduce some Stalin-eque policies.

fucking ALP supporters should have seen this one coming, i know Howard supporters and anyone else that is smart enough to never trust the ALP govt did.

U ALP SUPPORTERS ENDORSE ONE OF THE WORST LEADERS IN HISTORY...fucking ALP supporters should all go to Russia and stay there

Stalin was an effective leader though...he brought Russia to prominence in the world. Lenin turned it from a decaying medieval monarchy to a modern industrial nation, Stalin made it a formidable military presence, brought public literacy from something like 5% to 80%, raised several satellite states, and even managed to head the second most powerful (and most influential) state in the world.

The only reason people don't like him are that he kept killing people.

There's nothing wrong with a command economy, a large intrusive secret police force, an enormous machinery of coercion, labour camps, exiling pesky kulaks, direct mobilisation and using an excessive amount of force to do so and killing off the best and brightest in your military.

At least he kept the criminals off the streets, industrialised the nation quickly (just ignore that it was through extensive growth), everyone was safe and he was able to win a war. Now if that doesn't make him good enough, I don't know how you could be satisifed.

Olga.

I'd post more but my internet is running slower than a fat man with an erection.
